This year's School Leaders of Color Conference took place in Denver, Colorado, over the last week of February.

A small cohort of Mississippi leaders -  Kewanza Williams, Michael Cormack, Amanda Johnson, Guyniesha Johnson, Braxton Stowe and Cortez Moss - converged on the “mile high city” for the conference themed “Leaders as Coalition Builders.” The conference had a special emphasis on sustainability in leadership roles, leveraging networks and building equitable and excellent schools.

The conference featured speakers such as Kaya Henderson, Kunjan Narechania, and Teach For America CEO Elisa Villanueva-Beard.

The leaders had a fantastic experience and, since returning, have spent time reflecting, reading and networking to understand how to manifest the lessons learned here in Mississippi.
